As your first line of defense against potential attackers, a secure password on your Livestories account is crucial. To facilitate this mindset, here are the password rules used on the LiveStories website.
Password content and length
Most password attacks involve machines trying commonly used short words. So more secure passwords must have at least 10 characters and contain at least 3 of the following:
- capital letters
- lowercase letters
- special characters (&,*,$,!,etc.)
Additionally, a password cannot contain the user’s:
- first name
- last name
- email address
It is important that users change their passwords regularly to reduce the risk of using one that has been compromised. LiveStories enforces this policy by requiring the user to change passwords, at a minimum, every 120 days.
In order to keep a would-be attacker from guessing a user’s password, LiveStories will automatically lock accounts for 15 minutes after 3 consecutive failed login attempts.
